Shannon is a dedicated pre-licensed mental health counselor with broad experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families. She is passionate about empowering individuals to embrace their unique strengths, learn tools for regulation, improve relationships, and find outlets that bring joy and success to their lives. Shannon takes a person-centered approach to counseling and has comprehensive training in the ARC model (attachment, regulation, and competency), CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), and somatic interventions such as mindfulness and breathwork. She also enjoys incorporating visual arts, games, movement, and other creative outlets into treatment when appropriate.
Shannon has worked with individuals facing a wide range of mental health and behavioral challenges, with a specific focus on anxiety, depression, PTSD, ASD, attachment-related disorders, ADHD, and specific learning disorders. She is also passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and their families.
Before her graduate program at Lesley University, Shannon worked as a paraprofessional in special education classrooms, supported youth with neurological and developmental disorders in community and in-home settings, and volunteered for a therapeutic after-school program for children with PTSD. During her Master’s program, Shannon completed two clinical internships: first, working with adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, and later, supporting youth in the foster care system in a residential setting.
Before joining the Ely team, Shannon was a clinician at a residential education program for middle and high school students. She is committed to continuing her work with neurodivergent individuals and their families and aims to create a safe and inclusive environment where all clients feel valued and understood.
