Client Mentor
Mike brings a dynamic blend of education, coaching, and movement-based mentorship to his role as a Client Mentor at The Ely Center. Born and raised in Providence, RI, Mike’s passion for movement and teaching has shaped his career. After earning a degree in education, he spent eight years as an elementary teacher and PE instructor, where he saw firsthand the profound impact that mentorship and encouragement can have on students and their families.
Growing up with an older brother on the autism spectrum, Mike developed an early understanding of the importance of neurodiversity-affirming support. This personal connection fueled his desire to help individuals recognize their strengths and reach their full potential. In 2022, he transitioned from the classroom to the fitness world, where he continues to inspire others through his work at Barry’s Bootcamp and Rev’d Indoor Cycling. Mike holds a Master’s in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership from the University of Missouri, reflecting his deep commitment to guiding others through movement, mindset, and personal growth.
As a proud “girl dad” to a kindergartener, Mike is motivated daily to show up as the best version of himself. An avid runner, he has completed eight marathons in the past four years and looks forward to many more finish lines—often alongside his wife, Alyssa, who shares his passion for fitness. At The Ely Center, Mike is excited to support clients in building confidence, resilience, and connection through engaging, movement-based mentorship.
