Individual Services

One-on-one sessions are recommended for individuals who:

Are not yet ready for a group experience
Need individualized language development for oral & written expression, typically in addition to a group setting
Require more individual attention to acquire the self-regulation skills necessary for group work
Will benefit from direct instruction in self-advocacy and to build skills for processing language more effectively as well as for improved social experience outcomes

For clients whose primary challenge is language development and language processing, we offer:

Oral and written language support

An individualized academic support program

Reinforcement of high order language skills (i.e. opinion, simile, personification, sarcasm, etc.)

Executive function support

Group Services

Social Cognitive Groups meet weekly, typically for 50 minute sessions. Supplemental programs may also be offered throughout the year. Participants are placed in like-minded peer groupings of 2-6 group members, based on social level of presentation, age, grade, and interests. Sessions are specialized to meet the needs of the students in that unique group and focus on self esteem building while establishing awareness of and functional practice of the skills necessary for effective social communication.

Consultation Services

Social equity is the hub of the interpersonal wheel. Therefore, it is our mission to collaborate with families/caregivers, educational systems, outside service providers, and employers to functionally support our individual clients through a neurodiversity affirming lens.

Via this collaborative consultation model, The Ely Center offers the following consultation services:

Client Centered Consultation

Individual client – 1:1 as needed to support group work

Parent/Caregiver – At The Ely Center, online platform meeting, or home visit

Job Coaching – Interfacing with the client and the employer on the job or in 1:1 setting, to support work related expectations, behaviors, and outcomes

School Setting – Push in to client’s academic setting for: observation, meeting with staff, phone or email exchange with academic team, follow up notes, formal observation report, and/or presentation/participation at team meetings

Objective: To work collaboratively with school personnel to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the student’s social cognitive strengths and challenges
