Pamela is the Owner and Director of The Ely Center, LLC who together with Elsa Abele conceptualized a center-based holistic approach to social communication & social cognitive development that meets the varied needs of the client population served. Pamela holds an AB in Economics from Smith College and an MS in Communication Disorders from Boston University. She is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist with 25+ years experience supporting children and young adults with social language-based challenges in academic, private practice, and clinic settings. In 2012, Pamela completed the Social Thinking™ Mentor Training Program with Michelle Garcia Winner, MA. CCC-SLP, in San Jose, CA.
Pamela is a specialist in Social Language Disorders who interfaces with schools, school districts, and related service providers in the Greater Boston area and beyond. Pamela works collaboratively with professionals and parents to enhance their knowledge and understanding of social learning and how learners are best motivated and taught to reach their academic and social potential. She trains staff in the use of diagnostic protocols and treatment tools and techniques for identifying and facilitating language processing and social-emotional communication for all students. Her scope of practice includes executive function awareness and functionality as well as social pragmatic and social cognitive function, applied to the unique constellation of academic and social demands of each individual she meets.
Pamela previously held an adjunct professorship at Antioch University in Keene, New Hampshire and at Elms College in Chicopee, MA where she taught courses within their C.A.G.S program for certification in Social Disorders and Autism.
Pamela’s passions include but are not limited to spending quality time with her family, travel, dark roast coffee consumption, & the beach.
